Furnace Repair and Maintenance

A regularly scheduled furnace inspection and service is always recommended to help you avoid a sudden outage during the worst possible times – the dead of winter! We recommend contacting our professional service team in the spring and fall for general check-up and furnace repair and maintenance. Schedule an appointment today!

Because a furnace heats with combustible fuels, it can create safety hazards if serviced improperly. We recommend calling our service department for prompt, professional service to keep your furnace running correctly and efficiently as possible. If you smell fuel or other unnatural odors throughout your home or in the vicinity of your furnace, leave your home immediately and call our emergency service line as soon as possible.

Mohawk Heating Company’s trained and certified service team will get you back on track. Below are just a few of the common furnace problems that could arise. Learn more about our Planned Service Agreements.

Dirty or Clogged Filters

A filter clogged with dirt or debris will reduce airflow, forcing the furnace to work harder to circulate. In some instances, it can cause other problems. It’s always best to regularly change or clean the filters.

Electronic Ignition or Pilot Control

A faulty ignition or pilot light control can make the furnace unable to light.

Malfunctioning Thermostat

An old or malfunctioning thermostat will make it difficult to properly and evenly control the heat throughout your home.

Blower continuously runs

If the blower runs continuously, it could cause it to overheat, and could be caused by a problem with the limit switch, and should be replaced by one of our service professionals.

Frequent Cycling

If your furnace frequently switches on and off, it could be an indication of a bad thermostat, bad airflow caused by a clogged filter, or other more serious problems and should be addressed to avoid further damage to your furnace.

Noisy Furnace

A rumbling or squeaking sound coming from your furnace is not normal and could indicate a clogged airflow, clogged burner or other mechanical problems and requires a trained furnace service technician to evaluate and replace any damaged or worn parts that may be causing it.

An older and inefficient furnace can be unsafe, and costly because of more fuel usage and repairs. Call us today for a free consultation for a new furnace, or to schedule service repairs or a maintenance check of your system!
